Collaborative project
An app and sound installation that enables users to listen to the soundscape
of Glasgow before, during and after the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
By orientating the sound sculptures or their phones, users can tune into live feeds, broadcast from a network of ambient microphones placed at the games venues and augmented with commentary. In the outer circle users can point towards other Commonwealth countries and hear sampled sounds from the capitals and former host cities.
The sound sculptures in conjunction with the app create as sense of connectivity and participation throughout games time.
Project proposal co-created with Neil McGuire (After the News)
and Sebastian Gorton Kalvik.
